STEPHANIE REYER is Visiting Associate Professor responsible for the MFA program in Museum Exhibition Planning and Design at the University of the Arts, Philadelphia. From 2008-2017 she was Director and Vice-President of Exhibitions at Philadelphia’s National Constitution Center on Independence Mall, where she oversaw development of exhibits or exhibit renovations such as Signers Hall and the traveling exhibition American Spirits – The Rise and Fall of Prohibition. For a decade she was a senior exhibit team member at the American Museum of Natural History in New York, responsible for exhibits including Einstein, Darwin, Petra, and renovations of the Museum’s Hall of Ocean Life and Hall of Human Origins.
Stephanie has a BFA from Cooper Union (NY) and did graduate studies at the Schule fur Gestaltung (Basel) and the Fels Institute of Government, University of Pennsylvania. She has taught exhibit design and fabrication at institutions including Cooper, the Parsons School, the Pennsylvania Academy of Fine Arts, and the Vietnamese Museum of Ethnology (Hanoi). Her numerous awards include a Fulbright Fellowship to Athens (2007), where she developed and led hands-on workshops in exhibition design for international museum professionals not trained as designers.
